Mold for Aft Deck Hatches
(Brass manhole is from original boat)
Manhole flange held in place in center hatch mold
with white gel "putty".
 Mold is masked and ready for gel

Spraying gel coat
Gel coating complete

Airex core vacuum bagged in place
Two layers of mat glassed over core to make s "sandwich"
(Edges have added Nitex for strength)


Center hatch complete and removed from mold
Mold for aft deck frame.
(Using the hatch mold transfers the camber and
 hatch shape to the frame mold)

Black arborite and plasticine applied to mold
Spraying gel

Mat roving X 2 layup
Layup complete
Horizontal partitions ccompete (white parts)

Frame installed

Non Skid Formula

Undercoat
  • Roberts Gray  (unwaxed)

Top Coat
  • Roberts Gray and Cloud White  (waxed) Gel 50/50
  • 1 Cup Cabosel Per liter
  • Sprayed with Schutz Undercoating Gun 65 PSI
