![]() | As most inflatable owners know, there isn't a safe or graceful way to get
in or out of a small dinghy. The stainless handrail in these pictures has
improved the boarding process considerably. I cut the stainless tubing into two pieces; then bent each one and joined them at the top and installed them in the inflatable. They were installed using two brackets made out of starboard to go on the aft side of the seat and typical stainless hand rail fittings bolted onto the sole, with through bolts into aluminium plates on the outside of the bilge. The hand rail is riveted to the fittings in the sole so that it can be removed for storing the dinghy. (The rivets are aluminium and easy to "drill out"). |
